An art project created during the Laboratory Interactive Art Residency, Spokane, WA. Room-scale interactive environment created in Unreal for Oculus Touch.
Outside In investigates a concept of the collective body in an exploratory VR landscape, inviting participants to a conversation about virtual presence and embodied sensory experiences. The participants navigate a landscape of fragmented breasts, ears and skin folds by dragging their virtual bodies through space when physically moving their arms with their entire body. The virtual hands can touch and interact with haptically-responsive virtual surfaces. Eventually, this interaction transports the participants inside of through one of the ear’s orifices.
