A reading of Latour’s After Lockdown inspired this sculptural work in response to the legacy of Kafka’s Metamorphosis and the lingering questions of the second decade of the 21st century. I took his post-globalization frame of reference to investigate the border of spatial extension and ecology where we live and examine similar body-composition alterations in our changing environment. Here, the exoskeleton is a biomechanical extension of the human in the context of disintegrated physical borders of dissolving flesh.
