XR and Metaverse

Drawn to the uncanny qualities of digital objects, the fragmented bodies and organ-like sculptures evoke the cyborg bodies of Donna Haraway. These digital entities exist at the threshold between organism and machine, encouraging audiences to touch, listen, and inhabit their virtual surfaces.

Informed by the radical interventions of hacked CGI bodies and the fluid virtual identities, these XR works explore the politics of perception and intimacy in virtual space. These objects exist as sculptures and metaverse avatars. As sensory and sexual organisms they inhabit both interactive installations and online worlds, functioning as sensory metaphors that question the limits of human embodiment.

A short essay Anthology of Decentralized Bodies elaborates on these ideas with interactive webXR examples.
